Water Patrol

Through a cooperative effort, the Lake Management District and the Town of LaGrange are again jointly fielding a Water Patrol for the 2008 boating season. The Water Patrol is staffed by certified law enforcement officers in the state of Wisconsin and they will patrol Lauderdale Lakes and Pleasant Lake, enforcing state and local boating statutes. They will also oversee the parking at public boat launches on both lakes and will patrol Pleasant Lake Park. LLLMD Commissioner Nestor Dyhdalo oversees this project.

The launch ramp fee of $3 (daily) continues this year so be sure to use the envelopes at the launch ramps and put your check/cash in the pay boxes when you launch your boat.  The pay boxes are located at each of the public launches around the lake. Alternatively, an annual launch fee of $20 can be paid for unlimited use of the launch ramps. If you are parking at the launch ramps, put the fee receipt on the windshield of your vehicle; if not parking, keep the fee receipt on the boat.  Should you forget to pay the launch fee, take a receipt envelope and mail your payment to the Town of LaGrange at your earliest opportune time. The fine for not paying the launch fee is $155.

There is a LLLMD Water Safety Committee which provides oversight and direction to the Water Patrol. The members of this committee are:
Nestor Dyhdalo - Chairman
Frank Taylor - Town of LaGrange Chairman
Rick Callaway
Mike Hurlburt
Jack Potosnyak
Ken Roehl
Jim Seegers
Chief Ken Blanke (non-voting)
